Thank you to everyone who's been supporting me through the bloggersearch; you've all been very generous and I truly appreciate each and every one of you. xoxo

Ok so my original composition of how we met didn't really describe the difficulties that we went through to get to where we are now (through my separation, custody batttle, divorce, going to college etc. all while raising a daughter). Mark loves my daughter like his own, he's accepted me regardless of my faults, he's been my rock and the reason I can remain humble. He was my santuary through the hardest parts of my life. Yes, he's amazing and I get to keep him forever.. hehe.

===============[ How we met ]==============

Our story is one of chance.. or is it more like fate? I was home bored and didn't go out much so I decided I'd try out this online chatting thing. So I log onto Yahoo chat. Watched for a little bit as I was new to chatting. Mark was in the chat room and he was bored chatting to himself. How does one do that? Well his chat line said something like, "(so bored.. talking to the wall)" so I decided to say something like, "Hey kid_penguin (his screen name).. if you're so bored.. stop talking to the wall and talk to me". This started a strange conversation that led us to finding out that we lived in the same city. Imagine that.. the first person I meet in a chat room.. EVER was a guy from Winnipeg. So weeks/months pass with us chatting daily.. I soon get a few online friends. One day, I got a call from a place telling me I got the job. So I was excited to tell my online friends. Mark happened to be in the "room" so I told him.. turns out that he worked at the same place... AND in the very same department. In a few weeks time we ended up working together. My first impression of him: MAN! Is this guy ever quiet!! Must be something wrong with me? Do I look bad? Why isn't he talking to me? I couldn't figure it out.. he talked so much online but in person.. all I get was a quick glance and a smile... but I did think he was cute. The more time we spent together, the more I realized that all these things were not just coincidence.. it was fate :). So what made me fall inlove with him?? His giggle. And almost 9 years later, it's still his giggle that can change my day.

Mark is one of the greatest MEN I know. We compliment each other so well that sometimes it's scary. I am ecstatic to be engaged to the love of my life, my sanctuary and truly, my best friend. <3 you Bey!!

The Proposal

In true Mark fashion, his proposal was like no other. Sweet in his own way. He spent months scheming with our close married friends. They convinced me that this was the year I'd join them in Las Vegas (they go yearly and Mark finally joined them last year). They even had me convinced that my mom agreed to let me go (little did I know that she knew he wanted to propose to me in Vegas). So my first few hours in Vegas I spent "dragging my feet", I wanted to soak it all in. I couldn't believe I was in Vegas!!! After being dragged away from our hotel window (I was admiring the view of the Las Vegas strip at night) we head for the Venetian where I was told we were going on a Gondola ride. So whatever, I was just happy to be there that they could've told me we were going just about anywhere and I'd follow. Barely a block away from our hotel, Treasure Island, Elirose decides that her husband needs to take pictures of the Vegas virgin (me) posing in front of the Treasure Island sign. So like a dummy I did as I was told. When we got to the Gondola ride, they were closed for the night so whatever, I didn't care.. I was just happy. So again, Elirose yells to "stand over there and pose!" so I did. We somehow ended up on the bridge over looking the Gondola ride. The view was amazing! All the pretty lights.. beautiful buildings.. it was perfect! With his arm around me, Mark proceeds to tell me something:

Mark: You know I love you right? (This is usually the beginning of something NEGATIVE - ie. I spent all our money.. I lost my job.. etc.)
Me: What now? Just tell me.. (I was too happy and giddy about being in Vegas that I didn't care)
Mark: Well, I've been keeping a secret from you for a few months now...
Me: (WTF?! We're in Vegas and he has to confess something to me? NOW?? HERE??) Just tell me.. I'm too happy so whatever it is just say it.
Mark: I didn't want you to find out from someone else so I have to tell you.....
Me: (Oh my goodness... is he cheating one me?? Who else knows?? )
Mark: I bought this ring for you a few months ago..
Me: (huh?)
Mark: (Pulls out the box)

That's when I just broke down. My hand slapped my mouth and the water works began. I don't quite remember anything else after that. What I do remember is him staring at me with the biggest smile I've ever seen on his face.. and giggling. He finally asks, "Should I go on my knee now?" To which I replied, through the tears of joy, yes with a shake of my head now with a smile. He said those four words and the rest is history! So not only was I in Vegas for the first time, a few hours at that, I was also engaged!! My head was stuck in cloud 9 for the rest of the week and Las Vegas will always have a special place in my heart. And the rock.. oh my goodness! What a beautiful ring!!

So then afterwards, I was told that his original plan was to propose to me on the Gondola ride.. but that was closed. And being so sneaky, they used the "Vegas virgin" photo shoots to keep me busy so that Elirose and Mark can revise/confirm their plans. SNEAKY SNEAKY!!

That's our story.. and it was all captured on video (which you can't hear much of anyways because Mark was whispering it in my ears).
