A Stylish Destination Wedding In Italy

  |  By Jaimie Goldstein

When fashion blogger Nelia Belkova and Robert Dziobon couldn’t find a venue in Toronto to fit their preferred wedding date, the two started to look elsewhere—Italy to be exact. “A few years ago, when my girlfriend and I were travelling, we saw a beautiful bride being photographed on top of a breathtakingly scenic cliff in Sorrento, and I jokingly told her that I would get married there one day,” Nelia explains. Sure enough, Nelia got her wish as she exchanged vows with Rob at Villa Antiche Mura—a gorgeous hotel with incredible views of the Bay of Naples and Mount Vesuvius. Surrounded by lemon groves, the two treated their 30 guests to an intimate candlelit garden party filled with a few whimsical DIY touches created by Nelia. “For our favours, I ordered custom totes printed with the map of Italy, and I filled them with local goodies like Limoncello, lemon chocolates, postcards of the city, and fun moustache/lip props that guests could take photos with—everyone loved them,” Nelia recalls. For their honeymoon, the two extended their stay in Italy (with friends and family) and travelled to Florence. “Rob and I had been there before as a couple and it was fun to share the adventure, wedding and all, with our nearest and dearest,” Nelia concludes.
