Mary and Greg celebrated a lakeside summer wedding at the Royal Canadian Yacht Club on Toronto Island, where 140 guests were ferried across Lake Ontario to attend the celebration. “Greg wanted a venue close to water and I wanted a local venue; The Royal Canadian Yacht Club was the best of both worlds,” says Mary. Designing their celebration to reflect the place where they became engaged, Moraine Lake, the couple adapted a laid-back approach to their lakeside summer wedding: bridesmaids chose their own dresses in a multitude of colours, groomsmen wore their own tuxedos and the couple created their own wedding stationery. To add an extra-personal touch to their lakeside summer wedding, Mary and Greg — who met on eHarmony — made a donation to Canadian Feed the Children in lieu of favours.
