After a pier-side proposal in White Rock, B.C., Abbey and Alex turned to their attention to their favourite season to plan a fall-themed wedding. “Alex and I both love the colours and textures of the fall season. We tried to incorporate this into all the wedding décor,” says Abbey. The fall-themed wedding extended its seasonal inspiration to everything from invitations to bridesmaids’ dresses. With a robust palette of eggplant, orange, khaki and chocolate, the autumnal celebration featured festive paper poms, gold polka-dot table runners and a bountiful cupcake tower, among other autumnal details. “Being a creative person, I was able to put my own touch on everything that was incorporated in the celebration,” says Abbey, who sourced many fall-themed wedding items from Etsy. Donning a lace sheath from Blue by Enzoani, Abbey walked down the aisle to a Celtic rendition of Pachelbel’s “Canon in D”, a nod to her Scottish roots. The fall-themed wedding also included a Macedonian band in honour of the groom’s heritage.
