A Black and White Wedding in Ottawa

When Ashley and Robert met as kids in fifth grade they could have never guessed that years down the road they would end up married! The couple tied the knot with a glamourous black and white wedding. Ashley walked down the aisle in a ruffled Maggie Sottero ballgown at Stittsville United Church, where the couple exchanged vows surrounded by family, friends and a bevy of bridesmaids donning pastry pink party frocks. Festivities continued at the Marshes Golf Club, where guests were seated at reception tables adorned with black and white damask linens and towering feather centrepieces (Ashley’s two favourite details of the black and white wedding). The pair danced for the first time as husband and wife to “Lost Together” by Blue Rodeo (which had been Robert’s only request). “I wanted another song but [he] really was set on this song,” said Ashley. “I compromised. Isn’t that what marriage is all about? Our first dance was awesome!” After their black and white wedding soiree they couple honeymooned in Playa del Carmen, Mexico.
