A: Serving only wine and beer is not tacky at all! Many couples go the wine and beer route for their reception, excluding hard liquor for either health or budget concerns. Excluding liquor can also make things much simpler when hiring bartenders—the fewer drinks on the menu, the quicker the service. You can also save money by not hiring bartenders and serving only wine. Wine is a wonderful option as guests can pour their own drinks at each table. One thing to consider if serving only wine and beer is the toast. If you’d like a champagne toast at your reception, champagne should be included as well. Ultimately, serving only wine and beer can both save you money and make planning your reception much simpler.
