The Beauty of Bootcamp

My bootcamp motivation: trying dresses on at Sash & Bustle in Toronto. And no, it’s not the dress.

It’s my third week of bootcamp and I have to tell you: I’m addicted. I love the routines (minus those suicides run, right Roger?), I love how it’s all fitting into my schedule and I love the results I am beginning to see (hello biceps, my old friend). In fact just this week I almost doubled the amount of push-ups I can do. Gold star! I also realized this week another great thing about kicking up your workout routine pre-wedding: stress release.  After my bootcamp and post-workout stretching I feel relaxed and ready to take on the day. This is a welcome feeling as lately, my days are wedding obsessed and not just because I work at a wedding magazine.

From invitations (finally out) to the guest list, favours, food and decor for our cocktail party reception upon return from my California wedding day, there is a lot to think about, plan and DIY. We leave for California on November 20th and luckily our actual wedding day for two is at the Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn.

Our amazing wedding coordinator Kristen at the Fairmont has handled much of the wedding-day stress. Please allow me to gush about her a little. From the moment I first called her, Kristen knew exactly what I wanted. We began by going through the elopement package, adjusting everything to suit our personal wants and needs. She sends me email reminders about picking our officiant, tips about photographers in the area, and for our flowers I simply sent an image of what I’m looking for. And voilà – our wedding day is complete. Now back to those cocktail party details…

Clearly bootcamp is my much-needed stress release and break from the wedding insanity. After three weeks of bootcamping it up, I’m feeling focused, relaxed and ready to rock my wedding gown.
