Plan the menu according to the theme and atmosphere. If you want guests to mingle, set out finger foods and appetizers or let them bond over an intimate sit-down meal. Try signature stations where everyone can serve themselves, showcase an international cuisine or prepare brunch or lunch-style foods, such as soup, sandwiches, antipasto platters or fresh fruit. Bite-sized snacks, such as mini sandwiches filled with cucumber, egg salad or smoked salmon, are always fun for afternoon tea or nibbles.
