Just for Fun: If Super Mario Had a Wedding…

wbjan10_mario1_400x400

We’re a bit obsessed with Super Mario right now, or shall I say we’re a “Wii” crazy. Jenn’s been playing non-stop ever since she bought a console over the holidays, Alison has been trying to beat the new Super Mario Bros. (I beat it a few weeks ago!), Nicole even took a stab at Wii Sports, and Steph is thinking of trying it out. I wasn’t even going to blog about Super Mario until I received this awesome e-mail with a Super Mario cake image from Chrissie at Too Nice to Slice. So, the image got me thinking. If Super Mario were to have a wedding what would it look like? I’m thinking it would have to have the following elements:

Giddy with Gleeeeee

OMG, have you been watching Glee?! If you haven’t, you’ve got to jump onto the bandwagon. I think I’m a tad too obsessed with it, as I’ve been looking for a way to blog about Glee for the longest time. For those of you unfamiliar with it, it’s an exciting show that outlines the lives of high school kids joining the Glee club. It’s packed with singing, hilarious lines, and not to mention the ever-so-drool-worthy Glee club teacher, Mr. Schuester (played by Matthew Morrison). Anywho, last night’s show was another fabulous episode. This time, we heard Emma (Jayma Mays), who plays the school’s guidance counselor, sing for the very first time. Her rendition of “I Could Have Danced All Night” from My Fair Lady was so charming and she looked so elegant doing so in her wedding dress. Agreed? Are there any other Glee fans out there? Would love to hear from you!

A few of their favourite things

Bonjour! I am back from Montreal and getting back into the thick of things. I promised a full re-cap of Montreal, but that will have to wait until next week (getting all my photos in order, trust me, it’s worth the wait as I found this AMAZING cucpake shop). In the meantime, while I was away, I received this link to a YouTube video created by ForYourParty.com. Read the rest of this entry »

Cutest First Dance Song… EVER!

Did I mention how much I love reading real wedding questionnaires? Every submission is always unique and different, and I always feel the enthusiasm and passion that each real wedding couple has put into their answers–almost as if I was there on their actual wedding day. One of the couples (can’t mention names just yet) whom I interviewed for our Spring + Summer 2010 issue (set to hit stands mid-December) had the most adorable wedding song called “First Day of My Life” by Bright Eyes. I Gotta Feeling

Michael over at Prodigy Entertainment just released the top 10 most requested songs of the summer at weddings. Topping his list? Nope, it’s not MJ–although that came in a very close second.  Read the rest of this entry »

Time of Your Life

“Nobody puts baby in a corner!” “This is your dance space, this is my dance space.” Oh, Mr. Swayze how we’re going to miss you. I’m still in shock that Patrick Swayze aka Johnny Castle is really gone. In honour of his passing, I thought it’d only be appropriate to post the famous Time of Your Life dance scene–which happened to be mimicked by a wedding couple out in London (can be seen here). Enjoy!

Magical Proposal

Aww! This proposal was so sweet I had to share right away. I read about it in the morning paper, and as soon as I got to work I searched for the video on YouTube. Basically, Arvin proposed to his girlfriend Cindy via a magic trick show in Toronto. It’s so cute. Check it out and let me know what you think.

Lucky! Lucky! Lucky!

Oooh! You have to listen to this awesome song. I found it during one of my interviews with one of my real wedding couples (hint: they might appear in the next issue). Anyways, it’s called Lucky by Jason Mraz and Colbie Caillat. Read the rest of this entry »
