YouTube’s 10 Best Wedding Dance Videos

The biggest wedding trend these days seems to be coming up with something inventive that sets your celebration apart from others. We scoured YouTube and found the 10 best wedding dance videos, from dapper walks down the aisle to first dance fake-outs. Sit back, relax and gather inspiration from these hilarious videos.

Easily one of the most successful viral videos on YouTube, with over 71 million views (and counting!) JK Wedding entrance dance is the one that started it all. Set to Chris Brown’s “Forever”, the couple and their bridal party have made appearances on Good Morning America and The Today Show, and have been parodied on The Office, United States of Tara, and Australia’s Dancing With The Stars, to name a few. After their video went viral the couple started a website to raise money for the Sheila Wellstone Institute, an organization whose efforts are to end domestic violence, in wake of Chris Brown’s domestic violence charges in 2008.

How about a wedding performance surprise for the bride by her father and new husband? That’s the stage for this rendition of Fiddler on the Roof‘s “To Life”. If you listen closely to the lyrics, it’s a fitting song for a groom and his new father-in-law to sing together, with some help from the bridal party.

A classic fake-out music malfunction is what starts this fun loving couple’s hip hop first dance. After accumulating almost 12 million views on YouTube, this video was featured on Good Morning America.

While the coordination and dance skills of this group can be questioned, there’s nothing we love more than to see people bust a move to Michael Jackson’s “Thriller”, and evidently we’re not alone. With over 12 million hits on YouTube, MJ himself added the video as one of his Youtube favourites in 2006.

Who doesn’t love a false start wedding dance interrupted by a number choreographed by the couple to Michael Jackson’s “The Way You Make Me Feel”? This high energy couple gets the crowd going at their reception and this video has accumulated almost 15.5 million hits on YouTube. If you’re thinking about choreographing your own first dance, take some cues from this dancing duo.

Listen carefully among the cheers and you’ll hear a medley from Grease. This couple and their bridal party broke into dance for their reception guests and over 12 million viewers on YouTube. We especially love the bride’s red hot dancing shoes.

People love “Thriller”, as evidenced by this bridal party reception dance that has garnered the attention of over 15.5 million viewers on YouTube. We’re impressed with the accurate choreography and dance coordination of these groomsmen.

Another first dance fake-out, with over 15.5 million views. This couple broke out in a choreographed dance to Sir Mix A Lot’s “Baby Got Back”. This hilarious rendition of the R-rated song inspires us to break out into song and dance every time we watch it.

Who hasn’t dreamed of starring in Dirty Dancing alongside Patrick Swayze? This bride and groom almost put the 1987 movie to shame with their choreographed rendition of “Time of My Life”. We love the groom’s ode to Patrick’s outfit, and of course the iconic lift (with a little help from the bridal party).

If swing is your thing, take note of this couple, whose fast-paced moves and killer lifts won our vote.

New Video: Downtown Disney Flashmob Proposal

This genius proposal video was just posted on YouTube a few days ago and it’s already surpassed the 100,000 viewers mark. Give it a few more days and, there’s no doubt in our minds that it will go viral and pass the 1 million viewers record. And, why not? It’s got the makings of the perfect engagement story: a romantic location (in Disney) coupled with an amazing song in the background (Bruno Mars’ ‘Marry You’). The first part shows Jamin (the groom-to-be) explaining his whole idea/concept to the world. But, to see the magic in action, scroll straight to the 1:25 mark–trust us you won’t want to miss this!

Greatest Marriage Proposal.. EVER!

This is a video you’ve got to see! Creative, romantic–maybe a bit over-the-top–but something you’re bound to love nonetheless. Here’s what Matt, the boyfriend proposing in this video had to say:

My girlfriend Ginny gets taken to the movie theater to see “Fast Five”. After a preview for the Hangover 2, a trailer for a movie comes on. A trailer I made of her father and I where I ask her father for her hand in marriage. After he gives me permission, I race off to the theater she is at to ask her to marry me. What she doesn’t know is our family and friends are in the theater with her watching the whole thing, along with about 100 strangers ;-)

Enjoy!

iPhone Proposal in Movie Theatre

This has got to be one of the most creative wedding proposals I’ve heard and seen this year. Basically, Chad proposed to his girlfriend Vy at their favourite movie theatre via a faux iPhone commercial, which Chad worked on for 4 months. Here’s Chad’s explanation on how the whole idea grew into fruition: Read the rest of this entry »

what do you think of this proposal?

This proposal video was posted on YouTube only a few days ago and it’s already got over 90,000 views. It was an orchestrated proposal that took place live in Madison Square Park. So, what do you ladies all think? Was it super “cheese” or just plain romantic?

Bridal Makeup Tutorial

In the early stages of wedding planning I made a decision on something that seemed outrageous to some: I’ve decided to do my own wedding day makeup. How can I possibly have the courage to endeavour such a huge task? Simple: I enjoy and am actually obsessed with makeup application and products. This is kind of ironic and I’ll tell you why. Growing up in a predominately male family (two brothers and many male cousins), I was the girl that wore ripped jeans, T-shirts and runners and could be found chasing after my older brother: climbing trees, playing sports on the street and being the dummy for him to practice his wrestling moves on. Who would’ve thought that I would grow up loving anything remotely girly? You also couldn’t tell from looking at me that I enjoy playing with makeup since I run out of the house most days wearing glasses and not even a smidge of foundation. I’m not sure when I first became interested in makeup but I do know when it turned into an obsession—the year my BFFs gave me a M.A.C. gift card for my 20-something birthday. Ladies, I blame this all on you! Hehe, LOVE YOU! Read the rest of this entry »

How are you Saving the Date?

{image via Wedding Paper Divas}

As I mentioned earlier this year I have about eight weddings to go to. So far, I’ve received about three save-the-dates, all very pretty and unique (one a bookmark, one digital and one your basic invitation). Can’t wait to see what the rest of the brides have in store for their guests. In the meantime, here are some fun and additional ideas on how to spread the word: Read the rest of this entry »

An Epic Save-the-Date

When it comes to the wedding details some couples are getting creative. Really creative. One couple, Jeff and Erin, really took it to the next level, turning their save-the-date into a movie trailer. If you haven’t seen their video on YouTube, you have to check it out. My favourite part: “She was looking for Mr. Right, but found Mr. Wong.”
