Top model Anja Rubik wed Sasha Knezevic (also a model!) this past weekend in Majorca, Spain wearing a custom creation by Peter Dundas for Pucci. Anja flaunted her legs in a floaty minidress with delicate cap sleeves. Similar to fellow model—and recent bride—Kate Moss, Anja opted to wear her hair loose and wavy with a major veil. Do we have any Harry Potter fans in the house? I know what you’re thinking, what exactly is “bridal” about Harry Potter? Well, er, nothing really. But, last night, the cast (along with many other celebs) headed to London for the premier of the final (insert tears here) installation of Harry Potter, and if anybody stood out, it was Emma Watson in a gorgeous Oscar de la Renta number–now that’s bridal. Loved everything from the sheer neckline to the romantic tulle. Want this look for your own wedding? Here are a few gowns, that are equally as dreamy and definitely worth pursuing.

The minute we heard David’s Bridal was coming to Canada, we pretty much went googly eyed at the mere thought of it–especially since we knew Vera was releasing her White by Vera Wang collection (gorgeous couture gowns within a reasonable price point). This time around, we’re even more excited as she just released a new set of gowns (beautiful like her last set) AND a bridesmaids line–yes, your bridal party can now rock Vera with you. From flowing frocks to romantic dresses, here’s a preview of her latest line (check out David’s Bridal for all her newest gowns).

According to The Daily, renowned bridal designer Amsale Aberra has signed on to make a reality TV show called Amsale Girls. The series will take viewers inside her New York flagship store, located on the world-famous Madison Avenue. Known for her classy and sophisticated wedding gowns (see left), Amsale’s creations have appeared on film in 27 Dresses, and she was most recently in the news when Sara Rue wore one of her exquisite designs for her trip down the aisle.

Singer Lily Allen married beau Sam Cooper this weekend and the couple also announced Lily is six months pregnant with the couple’s first child. The rumours were that Karl Lagerfield was designing Lily’s gown, but the dress she wore was by French designer Delphine Manivet. Perhaps taking a page from the Duchess of Cambridge’s aisle style, Lily wore a long-sleeved lace gown with a fishtail skirt and A-line silhouette which nicely complimented her baby bump. Allen’s bridal miss however was her overdone headpiece and veil. It would have been nice to keep it simple with a loose chignon and pretty pearl earrings instead of the lace, rosette and tulle piece that seemed to overwhelm her. Your thoughts?

Isn’t she lovely? Exiting the Goring Hotel (where she spent her last night as an unmarried woman), Kate—now Catherine—Middleton was a vision in Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen. Her bridal ensemble was tasteful, classic and timeless, and in spite of the veil, the train and the diamond tiara, she still looked like the Kate Middleton we all know and love! Let’s break down the essential elements of her breath-taking look.

1) The Gown

If you’re going to do full-length lace sleeves without looking dated, this is how you do it! Reminiscent of Grace Kelly’s iconic wedding gown, this Sarah Burton creation boasted a sheer V-neckline, which modestly showed off Catherine’s elegant swan-like neck. The skirt was full—without overwhelming her willowy figure—and embroidered with some of England’s most famous flora (roses and clover).

2) The Veil

This is the quintessential bridal accessory, and Catherine kept it modern by choosing a simple shape with just the perfect amount of lace trim. Her natural makeup and ravishing smile beamed right through the delicate layer of tulle!

3) The Tiara

We would have been shocked if Catherine had gone without a diamond tiara. This Cartier heirloom (which belongs to Queen Elizabeth) is regal and refined—the ultimate princess touch.

4) The Earrings

Catherine chose well—these delicate drop earrings were eye-catching without being distracting.

5) The Bouquet

We love that she kept it small and natural-looking. This is the trend—more manageable bouquets that are hand-tied to look as though freshly picked from an English garden (love the chic white and green colour combo, too).
