I know that I‘ve already mentioned to you how “tech crazy” my husband is, but I don’t think you fully realize the extent of it. Allow me to dedicate a full week’s blog to this ongoing issue.
As perhaps you already know, I’m an actor. I can be found in some video stores (if you look really hard) but mostly I pop up on TV here and there selling god-knows-what or playing the guy who DOESN’T get the girl or boy (a trend I’m concerned with) in a number of shows. But this is my living, it’s my only income, and I don’t want to do anything else. So when we actors who rely solely on income from acting (it’s not a pride thing to not serve tables. I used to but came to grips with the fact that I’m no good at it) have slow weeks, or slow months, or, yes, a slow year, the pressure, both financially and emotionally, can be huge…when you’re single. When you’re married it can sometimes be worse—worse because you can’t help but feel like you’re letting the team down.
The last tidbit I wanted to share with you from my day at the CBC launch last week was from my meeting with Sitara Hewitt and Stephen Lobo from Little Mosque on the Prairie.
And now for something completely un-wedding related, just a bit of fun. Tonight, The Tudors returns on CBC and we at the office are punch-drunk with anticipation.
Last Thursday, I was invited to a special episode of The Hour, where everybody’s boyfriend George Stroumboulopoulos had CBC’s biggest names in the house—from Mansbridge to Mercer—to celebrate the launch of the network’s new season, which kicks off today.
