If there’s one skin serum that I swear by, it’s Ole Henriksen’s Truth Serum (available at Sephora). I simply love all the benefits this tiny bottle reaps–it’s light, gives your skin an instant boost, smells wonderful (an orange citrus scent) and, best of all, it doesn’t irritate. The Truth About Skin Care
Last week I had the pleasure of attending a Burt’s Bees event, they were introducing some amazing new products (review to come–still testing them out). But before they presented their new set, they had an interesting presentation on five skin myth busters, which I found completely fascinating. This info could come in handy, especially if you’re prepping your skin to be wedding day ready. Here’s what they had to share:
HYDRATION
Myth: The more water you drink, the better your skin will look
FACTS:
• Water intake does help the cells of your skin stay hydrated
• An over abundance of water will cause the body to flush out at too fast a rate
• Studies show people who drink too much water do not allow for proper nutrition absorption
• Stay with an acceptable amount of water during the day – let your body tell you when enough is enough
SOLUTION: Moisturization from the outside in. The more nutrients, the better. Stay away from petro-chemicals and silicones.
PORES
Myth: Pores can shrink
FACTS:
• The size of your pores stay constant and can not be changed
• The appearance, however, can change
• Clogged pores appear to be larger because they become opaque and can stretch
• Cleaned pores are more translucent and can appear smaller
SOLUTION: Cleanse with facial toner, gentle cleansers, and gentle exfoliants. Steam is excellent pre-cursor to facial treatments.

Last week in the office, Nicole and Stephanie were raving about my glowing skin. Bathing Beauties

I can’t decide whether these soaps would make great favours or better bridesmaids gifts. Either way, they’re sure to satisfy and please whomever you’re giving them to. Different from your typical bar of soap, Demo Soap is all about the uniqueness factor. One of my fave items (see below) are their chocolate-dipped strawberry soaps–looks like the real thing huh? And, BONUS, their soaps are all made out of 100% vegetable oil-based glycerin, which is said to be better for your skin. Check out all their other fun and refreshing items below.
