If Barbie and Ken Tied the Knot.. It Would Look Like This!

If you’ve ever wondered what a Barbie and Ken wedding was to look like in today’s world, I’d imagine it’d be something along the lines of this hilarious yet brilliant shoot found via Rock n Roll Bride and photographed by Beatrice de Guigne of BdG Photography. Each and every image is exactly what you’d see in any real wedding featured on Weddingbells, everything from the ‘portrait’ shot to the ‘getting ready’ images to the ‘first kiss’ photo was captured clearly and wonderfully on film–I guess you could say Ken and Barbie opted for the full day wedding package. For more information on the shoot and to see the whole wedding check out Rock n Roll Bride.

Photos From The (Other) Wedding Everyone’s Been Talking About

Last week we told you about the Ontario wedding video that went viral on YouTube because the whole event was a surprise to the bride. Well, if you loved watching the video footage of what the groom called “Operation White Cake” you’ll adore the details captured in these photos from that same event.

About the couple

Bride: Colleen Freker

Groom: Shawn Lippert

Wedding date: August 13, 2011

Guests: 200

Their wedding day: Colleen got the surprise of a lifetime when her boyfriend of seven years, Shawn, proposed on-camera and asked her to marry him on-the-spot, revealing the fact that everything and everyone she’d want at her wedding was already waiting at the venue for her to say “yes”. The couple had originally planned to elope to Las Vegas in September and surprise family and friends when they returned home as a married couple, but Shawn decided to plan a surprise ceremony instead. He spent a year ironing out all the details, gathering information from his girlfriend piece by piece on what she’d ideally want at her wedding. He even moved Colleen’s entire bedroom to the wedding venue so that’s she’d have everything she needed on her big day. All of the guests, including the bridesmaids, groomsmen and Colleen’s hairdresser, were in on the secret.

The couple was married in Tecumseh, Ontario on August 13, 2011.

Everything You Need to Know About Kim Kardashian’s Wedding

The most highly anticipated celebrity wedding of the years (sans the Royal Wedding, of course) happened this past Saturday, when Kim Kardashian tied the knot to basketball pro, Kris Humphries. Months prior to their huge celebration, we were privy to all the itty-bitty details (the dress designer, the wedding song, the ceremony location etc.). But, for those of you who haven’t been following the celebrity duo, or are curious as to which Hollywood stars made an appearance, here’s a basic rundown of the gorgeous shindig: Read the rest of this entry »

Must-See: Destination Wedding in Mexico

I can’t express how head over heels in love I am with this wedding right now. Everything from the details to the colour to the actual day is just so “wow”. And, seeing as it is Cinco de Mayo today, what better way to celebrate than with a wedding that embodies the Mexican culture? Photographer extraordinaire Jillian Mitchell of Jillian Mitchell Photography was the pro behind snapping all these inspiring images, and, in a nutshell she described this wedding as a “beautiful DIY celebration”–and we couldn’t agree more. “All details/design you see were done by the bride. I’ve never had, and I’m sure I never will, have another bride who is doing the finishing touches an hour before walking down the aisle!” Jillian shares. The couple, Myle and Chris also had a few words to share:

“There were a few things that my handsome husband and I were certain that we wanted for our wedding. We wanted a small, intimate gathering of our close friends and family.  Our petite guest list of 19 people suited this requirement perfectly. We wanted to find the perfect location that had the right mix of sweetness and charm. We found just that in the small, fishing village of Sayulita, Mexico. We wanted to find a photographer that would be able to understand us and share our vision for our big day. We were lucky enough to find that in the uber-talented Jillian Mitchell. She was able to capture the magic of the day and put it into print. But most of all, we wanted our wedding to reflect us. We included lots of DIY projects and personal touches, making our wedding our very own. The day was amazing and it couldn’t have happened without all the hard work of our loving friends and family. Oh, and an awesome photographer doesn’t hurt either!”

Reception Location: Cafe del Mar: San Pancho, Mexico
