How William Popped the Question

Mount Kenya

We love hearing about how he proposed and when it came to the royal couple, there’s no doubt we definitely wanted the scoop. According to Hello Magazine, the romantic gesture happened during their trip to Kenya this past October. William took Kate by a secluded lake on the slopes of Mount Kenya. It is speculated William borrowed a helicopter to fly there, as the two lakes — Lake Alice and Lake Michaelson — are only accessible via air. With the backdrop of the Rift Valley, 12,500ft above sea level, William asked Kate’s hand in marriage, giving her the stunning sapphire engagement ring, which was his mother’s. Here’s Chad’s explanation on how the whole idea grew into fruition: Read the rest of this entry »

Hollywood is in Love

Steve Granitz/WireImage/Getty Images

It’s been a while since I’ve posted anything about Hollywood couples getting engaged or married, simply because there was a little bit of a lull. Welcome summer and there have been engagements and weddings left and right! The most surprising elopement to me was Calista Flockheart and Harrison Ford. While they have been together for more than eight years (and a quiet engagement), I still never thought they’d take the plunge. Where and when you ask? On Tuesday in New Mexico where Ford is on set filming, says People.com. The two exchanged vows in the Governor’s Mansion, with the Governor performing the ceremony and the Chief Justice making it legal. Simple, but we say if it’s how you want it, then it’s perfect. A Wintery Wonderful Proposal…

WBJan10_snowmanAfter the big snowfall in Vancouver in December 2008, Karlo and I decided to go to the park and play in the snow. I’ve always loved the snow and being in that park, making snowballs and snow angels, made me feel like a little kid again; I was so happy just to be there. When Karlo suggested that we build a giant snowman, I was skeptical, because the snow was too powdery and wouldn’t stick well enough to build a good one. But Karlo was insistent, so we tried… and tried…and tried. Finally after about an hour of trying, we had only produced a teeny tiny snowman that stood about two feet tall. Not wanting to leave the adorable little guy behind, we picked him up and brought him back to our place with us. We set him in front of our front door and went back inside. Read the rest of this entry »
