Summer Finds at Pottery Barn
Posted May 24th, 2010 | 10:30 am | By Stephanie Gray | No Comments
In an earlier post I mentioned how I got to preview some of the fabulous new things coming from Pottery Barn and Williams-Sonoma, well I thought I’d get you inspired for summer with more amazing things you’ll love to register for (or even buy now!). Like I’ve said before updating your home doesn’t have to be expensive. Add some fresh new pillows, decor accents (like vases, lanterns or candles) or even a new bedspread. If you are considering registering at Pottery Barn or Williams-Sonoma, their registry program is accessible to guests anywhere in Canada. All they’ll have to do is give them a call and they’ll arrange everything (including the gift-wrap). Plus whatever items you don’t receive, but requested, is available for you to purchase at 10% off – more of a reason for you to register for everything you want!
This summer Pottery Barn has some incredibly adorable finds, like glass coolers, mason jar drinking mugs, faux coral decor pieces, sea-inspired napkins, plates and even candles. The great thing about this collection is that it’s not a theme that will go out of style. Personally I’m all for bringing the beach a little closer to home.

Lemonade Anyone?
Posted April 7th, 2010 | 8:30 am | By Roseanne Dela Rosa | 1 Comment
If there’s one drink–besides water–that will quench any of your guests’ thirst (especially during a hot summer celebration!) it’s lemonade. Check out these refreshing options from Pottery Barn. I love the idea of serving them in huge mason jars–it looks inviting and is guaranteed to be gulped right down within minutes. My suggestion would be to place these either at the end of your ceremony (if you’re having it outdoors) or at the beginning of your reception. Other thirst-quenchers on my list include iced tea, fruit punch and flavoured water. Am I missing any other good cold drinks?

Easter Entertaining

I am a huge Peter Rabbit fan and with Easter just around the corner, I’m seeing him popping up everywhere. My favourite thing I spied last week in the window of Pottery Barn on Toronto’s Bloor Street—a Peter Rabbit table complete with the most adorable placemats featuring all Peter’s friends including Benjamin Bunny, Jeremy Fisher, Tom Kitten and Jemima Puddle Duck. ‘Tis the Season

Channel a warm look with this mixed leaves vase filler.
I can’t believe I’m saying this, but it feels like Christmas is already around the corner. Yes, I know Thanksgiving is this weekend (I’m super-excited for turkey and pumpkin pie!), but I find that Thanksgiving comes and goes just like that. In honour of these two great holidays, I decided to look for some great centrepiece options that would be fitting for a fall/winter wedding. Read the rest of this entry »

Summery Wedding Decor
Posted June 10th, 2009 | 4:33 pm | By Roseanne Dela Rosa | No Comments

I seriously love this time of the year (although the weather over the last few weeks has been sort of odd). Regardless, I’m always so eager and ecstatic to see what other home decor stores are busting out for the summer. Decor stores are actually where I get a lot of my inspiration from. Pottery Barn in particular always has some amazing ideas, and although they are for the home, I can easily see their items being implemented into wedding celebrations. For example, I went online to check out a birthday gift for my mom (Happy Birthday Mom!) and thought that a potted plant is a pretty a neat alternative to having floral centrepieces. There’s something so earthy and calming about them. Another great idea would be adorning your tables with these chic and beach-like lanterns.

Party Time!
Posted January 1st, 2009 | 8:30 am | By Roseanne Dela Rosa | No Comments

Happy New Year’s to all the recently engaged (or what I like to call the Christmas brides) and to all those that have been with us over the last year. Can’t believe it’s 2010. For some of you, wedding plans are in full effect, and for others you’re just beginning. Well, wherever you are in your planning process I wish you all the best for 2010. Now to kick off the year with a bang, I thought it only fitting to talk about parties. And, not just any kind of party, I’m talking the kind that’s fun, chic, unforgettable–your bridal shower. My vision for the ideal “bridal” shower is one that’s not only pretty, but exciting to attend. You know the kinds where people remember the food, the decor and have an all-around good time. Enter, Pottery Barn. Last year (which was only yesterday!), they had these amazing themed party set-ups, which I saved to share with you (check out the gorgeous images below). From “movie night” parties to “classic bridal showers (image above)” to “wine & cheese” soirees, you’re sure to get inspired for your own shower–or even your own celebration. Enjoy!
