Swarovski to Launch First Fragrance

When you think of Swarovski crystals, you think of sparkle, right? So it only makes sense that Swarovski would take this as their starting point when setting out to create a signature scent. In partnership with the Clarins Fragrance Group, Swarovski developed the aptly named Aura, “a luminous fragrance, which is light and feminine. Described as a fruity floral, Aura is a complex combination of amber, white musk, lychee, white tuberose and pink pepper that would be an ideal choice for your wedding day! In addition to the fragrance (and accompanying body products), Swarovski has also created two lip glosses and a body shimmer that come packaged in crystal-adorned pendants. If you’re still searching for bridesmaids’ gifts these would be perfect! All the new releases will be available this August at Swarovski boutiques and The Bay across Canada.

Elie Saab Unveils First Fragrance

Day 25: Smells like Royalty?

Want to know what the most expensive perfume in the world looks like? It’s right here—and it has a fascinating history, including some very interesting ties to the royal family. Way back in 1872, Queen Victoria honoured the Crown Perfumery with the image of her crown, and selected the perfumery to create complementary fragrances for her and her beloved husband Prince Albert. Fast forward to 1999 when Clive Christian, a renowned British luxury designer, revived the historic perfumery and set about to create “No. 1 perfume,” the world’s most expensive perfume (only 1,000 bottles are produced each year). And now, in honour of the wedding of William and Kate, Christian has put together a very special set of matching his and hers No. 1 fragrances for the royal couple. The matching set, displayed in a black piano case with the royal coat of arms, will be gifted to the royal household on behalf of the Roja Dove Haute Parfumerie in Urban Retreat, Harrods and Clive Christian Perfumes.

Valentine’s Faves: Augustina Fragrances

What: Augustina Fragrances, $30-95

Why we love it: Recently picked up exclusively by Anthropologie online, the Toronto boutique launched its trio of private label fragrances in 2006. Owner Cristina Burgess named each of the three signature scents after streets she lived on. Roxborough (pictured) is a sophisticated scent, with rich and spicy notes, that linger into a powdery musk and is a great option for the winter, as well as the evening. Woodlawn, is a crisp citrus scent with notes of lime and woods, while Avondale is a decidedly spring scent with notes of lilac, peony and gardenia. The travel roller ($30) is perfect for your evening clutch or even for your honeymoon.
