I thought for today’s post we’d take a little trip up to the Muskokas. Cottage season has officially arrived after all! Outdoor or rustic, cottage-esque weddings are becoming very popular over on La Belle Bride. Some brides prefer the comfort of a laid back, outdoor-friendly venue rather than the traditional banquet hall wedding. And can you blame them? Fresh air, lovely outdoor photos and a chance for your guests to ditch the stress of the city to relax up north. Read the rest of this entry »

Real Wedding: Simply Elegant

I think this gorgeous reception shot from Liz and Derrick’s wedding is the epitome of a classy and chic tented wedding. Everything from the brilliant white shades to the pink and purple accents really made this celebration stand out (p.s. you gotta love those ghost chairs!). My thanks goes out to Crystal and her team at Distinct Occasions for transforming a simple space into something so lovely. Check out the rest of the wedding below.

Fall Ideas

Despite the super mild weather that we had earlier this week, I still have high hopes that Fall is just lurking around the corner, somewhere, out there, anywhere! Well, whenever Fall decides to show its face, I’ll be waiting with open arms (because I still have a ton of fall clothes that I want to bust out before Winter quickly swoops in). Anywho, this brings me to today’s “Fall-inspired post”. What a treat for me to come in on Monday and get these amazing shots and ideas from Jess at With a Flourish Events in Winnipeg. Here’s what she had to say:
Hi Weddingbells!
I’m a wedding coordinator based in Winnipeg. I recently did a little Fall-inspired photo shoot, and I wanted to send along a few photos. To decorate, we used gourds and squash from the Farmer’s Market, dried flowers from the Farmer’s Market, decorative grass, and canning jars. The table numbers were canning jars with chalkboard paint. The photographer was Bond from BLF Studios, and the menus and placecards were from Pulp & Circumstance. Linens were rented from Planned Perfectly.
Thanks!

Thanks for sharing these beautiful photos with us Jess–they’re gorgeous and everything that I pictured a fall-themed wedding to be. Check out the amazing photos after the jump.

Lights Please

Wow! Check out this amazing lantern display from Tavern on the Green in New York City. Our in-house multimedia producer Kyle (he edits all our videos and listens to our voices day in and day out) went to NYC last week to do a documentary with Ed Norton (yeah I know, what is his life!) for the NYC marathon. Anywho, while he was there, he also took a few snapshots of Tavern on the Green (this famous and luxurious restaurant smack dab in the middle of Central Park). As soon as I saw this gorge display I had to share. Love the blue twinkle lights and the hanging Chinese lanterns. It adds such pizzazz to any atmosphere and immediately sets the tone for a romantic evening.

Creative Chandelier

Oooh how amazing is this? I borrowed the idea from Sweet Paul’s blog–this talented interior designer and stylist. Here’s his take on how to “dress up” an old chandelier: Read the rest of this entry »

Rain Check
Q: We’re getting married in mid-August in a park. We can’t think of any contingency options for what to do if it’s pouring rain on that day. We also want to know how to approach this on the invitations for our guests. Read the rest of this entry »
