Wedding Photography Crush on Simply Rosie Photography

Now I know what you all are thinking, that I’m bias to Simply Rosie Photography because we share the same name. You may be right–no just kidding. Even though she has one of the most awesomest names in the world, her work is what caught my eye from the get go. Situated in Portage La Prairie, MB–Rosie’s talent and passion for photography translates into some of the most beautiful pictures you can imagine. Very warm and inviting, it’s hard not to get caught up in her photos. Most recently, Rosie and a few of her friends stringed together a celebration entitled: “Friends Party”. Personally, I’d love to see decor like this at a bridal shower, or an outdoor wedding celebration. Every detail from their delectable brownies to their boho chic photo booth leaves us yearning for more. So get ready to be wowed and blown away. Thanks for sharing with us Rosie! A Casual Affair

When longtime customer, turned friend, emailed me late July to say that he and his girlfriend had decided to get married August 21st, it was a welcomed surprise!  We had a little over three weeks to transform their beautiful beach cottage, just three homes up from the famous beach boardwalk, and their two neighbour’s yards, into a celebration haven.

Nature lovers at heart, they wanted a casual garden party to adorn their union. The only decor specification that I was given was that there was to be lots of birch poles, making the entrances of the tents feel like a forest. All other design elements I could do what I pleased — how much fun is that!! Read the rest of this entry »

Where Oh Where Should We Wed?

Peacock Alley

If Joseph can put up with all this wedding planning, I know I’ve picked the right man! I’m sure he must be getting tired of me not coming to a decision on our ceremony location. I’m just having such a hard time figuring out what I want. Usually I know what I want and I just go for it, but last summer changed all of that for me. Read the rest of this entry »

Ballroom Elegance

WBOct09_sweetheart

This weekend I saw a truly amazing backyard transformation. It took skillful coordination and attention to detail on the event planner’s part, but the result was simply stunning.

A tent was placed right behind the hostess’ house, allowing the guests to enter through the front of the home, pick up their place cards within, and then be lead to beautiful set of french doors which opened upon the unsuspecting beauty within the pavilion. Read the rest of this entry »

Garden Party

MaiBojan and I are not your typical married couple-to-be.  We started dating in 2001 and five years later, introduced a lovely little boy, Ivan, into the world.  Just recently, we added Nicolas to our growing family.  Although we have done things unconventionally, the decision to finally get married makes perfect sense for us now, as our relationship is the strongest it has ever been. How Taboo!

WBSept09_chair_ribbon

I always love the opportunity to take a road trip! This one led me to the beautiful Muskoka resort of Taboo.

This lovely couple had a definite idea of what they wanted their flowers to be: elegant and luxurious, with a natural touch to pull in the amazing surroundings of the resort. Read the rest of this entry »

Benches are the New Chair

Watch out chairs, benches are making their mark on ceremony decor at destination weddings. Specifically, wooden benches are the newest trend for ceremonies. Benches are a fun way to add a new “look” to your celebration. This is something to consider if you’re tired of the chair covers or Chivari chair look. Read the rest of this entry »
