Q: I know that many of the articles around health and fitness are catered to topics such as weight loss, but I am a young business woman with an active, high-stress job, and I am looking to put on 5-10 lbs before my wedding. I have been slim figured all my life, and I would love some diet suggestions that may help me stay healthy and fit, but also gain some healthy weight before my big day. Read the rest of this entry »

Beauty Foods
I don’t know about you, but I love berries (especially when they’re in season). Besides being delicious, some of them also offer excellent nutritional benefits, helping you to look beautiful from the inside out! If you’re looking for an extra beauty boost, what you eat definitely makes an impact, so during those weeks leading up to the big day, paying attention close attention to your diet probably doesn’t hurt. Stave off Stress

- Eat nutritiously every three hours. Try to include protein at each meal—this slows down the digestion of the meal, which ensures that you will have a steady release of energy to sustain you throughout the day. It will also keep your metabolism revved, help stabilize moods, prevent you from getting too hungry and help minimize cravings. Always have breakfast! This will set the tone for the rest of your day!
- Drink plenty of water. It will help keep your skin glowing, flush toxins from your body, increase energy levels, help manage your appetite etc., etc., etc. Herbal teas are also great! Make sure you constantly have a bottle of water handy—on your desk, in your bag, at the gym….
- Eat plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables. They are loaded with vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, fibre and water—all the things you need to stay healthy and vibrant! Frozen fruits and vegetables are great, as well as homemade soups. So stock up and make sure they are always available for you.
- Dry skin brush. This is a fantastic way to stimulate circulation, improve your complexion and skin tone, help reduce signs of cellulite and make you feel vibrant and healthy. You will need a soft natural fibre brush with a long handle so that you are able to reach all areas of your body.

In Sickness
I’m sick.
I suffer from a case of Shining Armour Syndrome, commonly referred to as SAS. SAS afflicts one in three men 60% of the time. Perhaps you suffer from SAS and don’t even know it. Do you try to fix problems only you can see? Do you apologize for the inability to make life easier for loved ones? Do you hear complaints and think action beyond simply nodding and saying nothing is required? If so, then you may very well suffer from SAS. But I am here to say that SAS in not a death sentence. Let me explain.

Baby Fat
Q. My fiancé and I are getting married on November 1, 2008, and I had a baby February 4, 2008. I still have some baby fat to get rid of before the wedding. Are there any exercises that get rid of tummy and thigh fat?

Energized Editor
Tons of “stuff” comes through the doors and makes its way to the desks of our editors here at Weddingbells. From beauty products to bridal accessories (oh, the shoes!), books, etc., it’s always an exciting, yet exhausting, process to manage it all. Besides that, I’m also a newbie to the team, so my level of enthusiasm is still at peak levels.
