The Hottest New Colour in Bridal Fashion (and it’s Not White!)

In the past couple of seasons we’ve seen almost every colour imaginable on the bridal runways from pale pink and mint green to black—yes black—but one of the most approachable ways to try this trend is with a shade that’s slightly darker than the traditional pure white. For Fall 2012, many designers showed deep ivory gowns, and we’re absolutely in love with this warm and wearable hue. Here are 10 of our favourite dark ivory bridal dresses.

Our Favourite Wedding Dresses… With Sleeves!

Who says you can’t wear sleeves on your wedding day? Granted, the strapless has always been a popular pick amongst brides, but we definitely won’t say no to a little cover-up. And, ever since the Duchess of Cambridge walked down the aisle in long, lace sleeves, designers have been racing to create gowns with the beautiful element in mind. From cap sleeves to covered arms to subtle lace, the sleeved dress has definitely been reinvented for 2012.

Look at what just arrived in our inbox…

… a sneak peek of Jenny Yoo’s latest bridal and bridesmaid collection! We’ve been waiting all day to get a glimpse of Jenny Yoo’s 2011 dresses (which debuts at Chicago bridal market today), and I must say they are super-gorgeous. If anything, these handful of beautiful gowns sets the tone for Yoo’s newest frocks–which are bound to all be elegant and timeless. The bridesmaids collection is also another fabulous addition. Nicole and I love the short styles and we both agreed that this particular shade of yellow (pictured in the two dresses below) is one to look out for in the new year. Enjoy! Current Obsession: Sarah Seven

If you’re looking for vintage-inspired gowns you must check out Sarah Seven–a cute dress shop based out of Oregon (don’t worry they ship internationally). I love the dreamy look of each design. One could almost say their dresses have a very boho/shabby chic with a modern-twist look to them. Even the names of their dresses are adorable.  Pictured above (from left to right) the frocks are called: Wedding Bells (very fitting to us!), Pink Petals and Love Story. Told you they were cute, didn’t I? Read more after the jump to see more of my top picks from Sarah Seven.

Pretty Spring Dresses

By now, you have probably noticed my obsession for J. Crew (word on the street is that they’re coming to Canada). Exciting, non? But while we’re waiting for that to happen, I will have to live by perusing through their endless array of pretty dresses online. Right now, I’m in awe of their latest J.Crew Wedding collection. Their bridal gowns are light and airy, and their bridesmaid dresses are chic and colourful. Take a peak.

Pretty Pieces

I’m baaaackk. Sorry, I’ve been out of the office for the last week and you’ll have to forgive me for my tardiness today, as I’m still adjusting to daylight’s savings time (I’m sure you can all agree). One thing I’ve learned about being away is that it can certainly take a toll on your desk. Luckily for me, I came back to stacks of beautiful invitations (for an upcoming shoot), five mops (not too sure what to do with those ones just yet), a new fragrance from La Senza anddd–topping my list–a beautiful (and I mean beautiful) bracelet from the ladies at She’s So Beautiful…Consignment and Bridal Boutique. Here’s a snapshot of their kind note: Read the rest of this entry »
