Kristin Cavallari’s Wedding Registry Revealed

Reality TV star Kristin Cavallari—of Laguna Beach and The Hills fame—announced her engagement to Jay Cutler, a quarterback for the Chicago Bears, this past April, and People magazine has uncovered their registry list! The pair, who are registered at Williams-Sonoma and Crate & Barrel, have put together an extensive list of different items (including some surprises!). Here’s the lowdown:

The Affordable Picks

When adding items to your registry list, it’s always important to choose some pieces that won’t break the bank. On the lower end of the scale, Cavallari and Cutler picked out a muffin pan from Williams-Sonoma ($30) and teabag rest plates from Crate & Barrel ($3 each, pictured below).

The Splurge Items

In addition to budget-friendly picks, add some big ticket items to your registry. Remember that your guests may want to pitch in as a group for one of your dream pieces. Cavallari and Cutler’s extravagant must-haves? A copper stockpot ($495) and a 19-piece knife set ($2,800, pictured), both from Williams-Sonoma.

The Wild Card

While we applaud Cavallari and Cutler for mixing high and low items on their registry list, and choosing more than one retailer, there were some things that made us scratch our heads a little. Exhibit A: a KitchenAid sausage stuffer kit attachment ($15). Say what? Imagine being stuck with that gift…

Day 41: Royal Wedding Marmalade

Just yesterday, I blogged about hosting a royal wedding-themed tea party complete with scones, jam and clotted cream. How cool is it that even before that blog was posted, I received an email about a very special marmalade that’s been made in honour of the Royal Wedding that would be perfect to serve for high tea. Registry Obsession: Silk Linens

Silk blankets from Vancouver's Manito Silk.

Once you’ve tried silk bedding you simply will not go back—it’s so luxurious and lovely. Manito is a brand of silk linens that recently crossed my desk, a pair of gorgeous pillow cases to be exact and laying my head on their silken goodness every night for the past week has been a dream. A few things I learned about silk linen from Manito:

• Silk bedding is healthy and all-natural. This means our bodies response to it is batter than synthetic or feathers. AND it’s hypo-allergic.

• Silk is cool in the summer and warm in the winter. It keeps your body at a constant temperature all year round.

• Silk is the strongest natural fiber and is comparable to steel in utensil strength!

When shopping for silk linens the important thing to look for is momme count. A weight of 12 pounds or higher is an optimum count (Manito Silk boasts an ultra-luxe 22 momme count!). Offering everything from sheets, to duvets, duvet covers, blankets and accessories, the Vancouver-based Manito really is a one-stop, silk linen shop. They offer easy online shopping and ship across Canada and into the US. LOVE!
