Delightful Dahlias
{image via The Garden Decor Store}
The other week I blogged about Glamelia’s and how pretty they were. Hoping to get more info on the process (it does take quite a bit of time to construct something so delicate and gorgeous) I made a quick trip to visit Jenn, a florist at Flour Studio. She had told me that Glamelia’s were very pretty, but agreed they would be delicate and need some major TLC during your wedding day. They could also be a tad pricier–depending on size.
As an alternative, Jenn suggested dinner plate dahlias (these are single stemmed florals which can range up to 30cm in diameter–hence the dinner plate term). Read the rest of this entry »

Latest Obsession: Herbal Boutonnieres

Yesterday on set, Jenn from Flour Studio came in with this really amazing floral item–herbal boutonnieres. Originally, I had planned to keep mum on this cool creation until my next flower video comes out–but it was such an awesome idea that I had to share. Long story short, Jenn mentioned that the idea of incorporating rosemary, thyme, mint, chamomile and other herbs came about, when one groom (who happens to be a chef) requested to have as many food elements incorporated into his day as possible. And, voila, that’s how this unique twist to boutonnieres was born. Would you do this for your own celebration? Anyone care to share what they’re doing for their boutonnieres? I’d love to hear!

Cute Packaging…

Yippi! It’s our last day in the office. And, truth be told, we’ve been “hard at work” cleaning our desks, opening presents and munching away on shortbread cookies. Yes, I know it’s tough, but, hey, somebody’s gotta do it :) .
Anywho, amid all the presents, I’ve found some cute inspiration from one of the gifts I received from the girls over at Flour Studio (p.s. thanks Jenn and Esther for the awesome set). Check out the amazing packaging on this soap from MOR Cosmetics. I love everything, the chic wrapping paper, the little embellishment–even the ribbon is adorable. If you’re looking for a neat and pretty way to wrap favours (chocolates, soaps, candles, etc.) I think this is one glamorous way to do so.

Video Blog: I Heart Flour Studio!
Sooooooo! I just filmed my first video blog EVER last week. We were at Flour Studio, a cute cupcake and floral shop located here in Toronto. Anywho, while I was recording our official cakes and flowers segment I got super-inspired and distracted by all the little things, that I had to show you right away. With no camera on hand though, Steph suggested doing a video blog. Hence the informality of it all! But, I hope you get inspired by some of the amazing ideas. Enjoy!
