“Organic.” “All-natural.” “Locally grown.” “Five cent plastic bags.” These are the mantra of my life and thus my wedding. My wedding date is set in April and I am now embarking upon a journey that would be make my wedding not only unique and special, but also one that is environmentally sound.

I came across the idea of “reuse” dresses in the car to a wedding. It was probably the fourth wedding that season and I was in my fourth “wedding” attire. I’m Carrie, an internal medicine resident and Gergely, my fiancé, just finished law school. Our theme is eco-vintage and it will be held in Canmore, Alberta. We want to plan our wedding with a global and environmental consciousness. Eco-friendly weddings don’t have to be granola and vanilla. In fact, it can be just as or more beautiful than a “conventional” wedding.
