I think I’d rate my kitchen skills as moderate. I’m no pro, but I love baking, trying out new appliances or kitchen gadgets and occasionally trying a new recipe here and there. To be honest the reason I don’t try new dishes more often is because I just don’t have the time. On a weekday basis usually I’m home from the gym and just want to eat, not experiment with a Julia Child three-course meal (plus I’d rather wait to mess up the kitchen on a Saturday). Montreal Love-In

Fairmont Queen Elizabeth in Montreal
John and Yoko had their famous “Bed-in for Peace” in 1969 at this downtown Montreal hotel and while I definitely think it’s worth your time to cozy up in one of the suites (maybe the legendary #1742), you must also take time to explore this chic and romantic city. I’m off to Montreal this weekend and while I won’t be spending it recording hippie anthems at the Fairmont Queen Elizabeth, à la John and Yoko, instead I’ll be checking out the Jazz Fest and possibly some other celeb-worthy spots I recently discovered. Take Home Chef

Last week I made a bid on a chef and won! My boyfriend’s an actor and his theatre class is reworking a play they performed a few years back—so as it goes with the arts, they were fundraising in order to successfully produce the show again. Part of the fundraising came in the form of a silent auction. I refrained from bidding on too many items, except I made sure to keep my eye on one prize in particular: a chef that will come to your home and cook for you and five of your friends.

Weddingbells Goes Green
Last week, we hosted a beautiful event focused on planning an eco-chic celebration at Toronto’s swank Jamie Kennedy at the Gardiner. Over 160 people (the city’s premier wedding planners were our guests of honour) came out to enjoy our celebration of all things green and gorgeous for your wedding.
