I tried this DIY project over the weekend for my aunt and uncle’s silver anniversary bash. The result? A smashing success! Every kid and adult loved the idea of chocolate covered marshmallows. Best of all? They’re a cinch to make, budget-friendly and can be altered to fit your theme and wedding colours. This is one of the best Italian-inspired dessert tables I’ve seen. Everything from the colours to the patterns to the prints just screams Italy. Created by Viva La Diva Events and Sweet Heather Anne (via Amy Atlas), the two looked at an Anthropologie dining set and weathered terra cotta pots for their main inspiration.

Owned by Jean Blacklock, Prairie Girl is exactly what cupcakes are, and should be, all about: sweet and simple–no extra fuss on the side. Borrowing inspiration from her mom’s icing, Jean stresses her love for butter and cream cheese, “creaming the butter and/or cream cheese ’til they’re nice and fluffy is what it’s all about,” Jean explains. As for the cupcake flavours? Well, this cupcakery certainly has all the classics covered from vanilla to chocolate to red velvet to the more exotic flavours including coconut lime and hazelnut mousse.”We always say red velvet, strawberry and peanut butter are the favourite flavours, but lately I’ve noticed that every single one of our 14 flavours and our ‘Treats of the Week’ are beloved in a fanatical way by some segment of our customers,” Jean says. In our books, a candy bar just isn’t complete without a pretty backdrop. After all, it’s one of the first things your guests will see when they look at your dessert bar. It doesn’t have to be a background that’s elaborate beyond belief, actually sometimes simpler is better. Such is the case when it comes to this romantic yellow and gray vintage wedding rosette backdrop created by KaLice found on 100 Layer Cake’s marketplace. Made out of approximately 50 rosettes all ranging in sizes from 5″ to 12″ this gorgeous decor element is sure to complement your dessert theme and give it an overall unified and completed look.

I didn’t even know Boston Cream Whoopie Pies existed until I spotted these decadent treats from Bakers Royale. How delish!! I suppose you could transform any type of treat into a whoopie pie. But, if you’re looking for a mini sweet with a hint of chocolate, I’m sure these would do the trick. They would certainly be a great accent for any wedding dessert table and a guaranteed crowd pleaser.

Pi Day may have already come and gone but that doesn’t stop me from showcasing this delectable piece of chocolate from Chocolate Editions. I’m not usually big on math, but if you and your misters are numbers people then this Chocolate Pie Chart would be the perfect wedding favours.
