Sign Me Up

Who’s looking for beautiful vintage signs? Because I have found the cutest east coast shop EVER. Okay, well, technically, they found us. But, anywho, when Leslie, owner from My Painted Porch, e-mailed us, I nearly swooned with excitement. Just a little background info, My Painted Porch is this online boutique (from New Brunswick) who specialize in vintage inspired wedding designs. Their “Sweetest Moments” line is stacked with signs perfect for a shabby chic garden wedding or a vintage French-themed celebration (check out some examples below). Bonus: they do custom work too! P.s. out of curiosity, do any of you plan on using signs for your big day? If so, how?

The Numbers Game
I’ve seen and heard tons of great alternatives to table number cards (i.e., using movie titles, road names, pictures and so forth in lieu of numbers). But if you want to keep it simple and basic, I suggest a cute and chic sign like this hand painted wooden wedding reception table number from Funkifolkart. Read the rest of this entry »

Turn that Plant Upside Down

Okay brace yourselves for this different BUT artsy idea. I think I’m actually digging the whole upside down plant look. Okay, maybe it’d freak me out for home decor, but I think it’d be a great addition to your reception venue. What do you think? It’s not THAT different from hanging lanterns, but maybe instead of potted plants you have hanging florals. I don’t know, food for thought!

Pretty, PRETTY, Flowers
I just discovered Rose’s, Flowers & Gifts, this really hip and creative flower shop located in Vancouver. Can I just say? LOVE their arrangements. Everything looks so pretty (as noted in my title above) and really fresh. Here’s a few great and elegant options from them:

Lights Please

Wow! Check out this amazing lantern display from Tavern on the Green in New York City. Our in-house multimedia producer Kyle (he edits all our videos and listens to our voices day in and day out) went to NYC last week to do a documentary with Ed Norton (yeah I know, what is his life!) for the NYC marathon. Anywho, while he was there, he also took a few snapshots of Tavern on the Green (this famous and luxurious restaurant smack dab in the middle of Central Park). As soon as I saw this gorge display I had to share. Love the blue twinkle lights and the hanging Chinese lanterns. It adds such pizzazz to any atmosphere and immediately sets the tone for a romantic evening.

Decor Dilemma
Q: Our reception is being held at a simple community centre instead of a fancy reception hall. We are looking for cheap ways to dress it up, so it will look different and a bit classier for our wedding day. Read the rest of this entry »
