The crisp weather has inspired us to find the best in fall centrepieces. Warm autumn colours and unique textures are some of the things that we love most about fall. Whether you choose bouquets of wheat and pine cones for your rustic-themed wedding or traditional floral arrangements in deep reds and oranges for your traditional affair, autumnal themes are warm and inviting when the temperatures outside start to dip.
Bees may not be my favourite insects, but I do love them for their honeycomb-inspired patterns and the natural goodness that they provide for beeswax candles. I’m a huge fan of Big Dipper Wax Works for two reasons a) their commitment to being an eco-friendly and sustainable company (i.e. all their wicks are 100% cotton, etc.) and b) for all their pretty elements. I talked about using scent in the home in an earlier post, which I think is a great way to add ambiance to any room in your house. When I heard about this new collaboration between Jo Malone and Farrow & Ball, I wanted to share it with all of you! For those of you who aren’t familiar, Jo Malone is a British lifestyle brand that sells products for the bath, body and home, while Farrow & Ball are expert manufactures in the paint and wallpaper business. It made complete sense the two collaborate on these gorgeous limited edition candles. I can’t believe I’m saying this, but it feels like Christmas is already around the corner. Yes, I know Thanksgiving is this weekend (I’m super-excited for turkey and pumpkin pie!), but I find that Thanksgiving comes and goes just like that. I seriously love this time of the year (although the weather over the last few weeks has been sort of odd). Regardless, I’m always so eager and ecstatic to see what other home decor stores are busting out for the summer. Decor stores are actually where I get a lot of my inspiration from. Pottery Barn in particular always has some amazing ideas, and although they are for the home, I can easily see their items being implemented into wedding celebrations. For example, I went online to check out a birthday gift for my mom (Happy Birthday Mom!) and thought that a potted plant is a pretty a neat alternative to having floral centrepieces. There’s something so earthy and calming about them. Another great idea would be adorning your tables with these chic and beach-like lanterns.
