The Oscar fashion rundown continues! Obviously, I couldn’t agree more with Alison and Stephanie: Sandra Bullock was the picture of perfection in Marchesa, Cameron Diaz sparkled in Oscar de la Renta and Anna Kendrick was a blushing beauty in Elie Saab. Coincidentally, all of these labels just happen to have bridal lines! Read the rest of this entry »

Dress to Impress

From left to right - Kerrie, my best friend and MOH - Mikayla, my cousin and BM - Kendra, my cousin and BM - and me!
I don’t know if it’s just me, but I’m at the five-month mark now, and I’m starting to get a little nervous. I feel like I still have so much to do! Especially with our house being built, there are so many decisions to make!
My task with my bridesmaids and maid of honour this month was to get those bridesmaids dresses found and off the to-do list. Well, we’re already nearing the end of February and we didn’t make much progress so far. We originally planned for the first week of February, but my maid of honour got a job offer 13 hours away, with a week’s notice to move out there! And my mom ended up being out of town for work, so we moved our plans back a few weeks. Read the rest of this entry »

Dressed to Impress
Will your bridesmaids be decked out in a long and elegant gown? Or, are you keeping things short and sweet? I’m curious–which of the following dresses (pictures below) appeals more to your style? Personally, as a former bridesmaid and soon-to-be-again, I like the idea of walking down the aisle in something pretty and wearable. So the idea of an LBD tops my list as being the “perfect” bridesmaid dress. Then again, wearing a colourful frock has its advantage as it would definitely add a punch of colour to my already-dark and neutral wardrobe.

Colour Query

Pretty in pink; Love by Enzoani.
As you can imagine, we get lots of reader questions here at Weddingbells, and we try our best to answer them. In fact, there’s nothing we love more than helping you track down your dream dress or the perfect pair of shoes. I recently received an interesting fashion query from Ann, so I’d like to dedicate this post to her! Ann’s daughter is getting married in August, and they’re having a devil of a time deciding on a colour for the bridesmaids’ dresses. Read the rest of this entry »

Inspiration: Coach’s Madison Floral Carryall

Yesterday I received an e-mail from Coach notifying me of their latest collection: the new Madison floral carryall. Inspired by the pretty floral-ish patterns and the green and pink hues, I went on the hunt for gorgeous wedding items similar to these two shades. Check out my “pretty” finds! Enjoy.

All White?

Love the ruffle and bow at the neckline! Image courtesy Alfred Angelo.
Here’s another bit of interesting historical wedding trivia for you: Queen Victoria’s bridesmaids all wore white to her wedding! At first I wasn’t so sure about this idea—would the bride stand out enough? It is her moment to shine after all. However, after finding numerous examples of totally stylish all-white wedding parties on the web, I think I might be coming around to the concept. Read the rest of this entry »
