It’s hard to go wrong with a custom-designed Vera Wang gown, but what I liked most about Chelsea Clinton’s bridal look is that it was true to her personal style. When it comes to choosing your dream dress and accessorizing your ensemble, it’s crucial to keep in mind who you are and what makes you feel comfortable.

I can tell just by looking at her beaming face that Chelsea did just that. She’s obviously a classic girl at heart, and her strapless ballgown is traditional yet modern (an embellished waistband adds some sparkle). I also like that she wore a big veil and kept her jewellery to a minimum: a diamond tennis bracelet and drop earrings are pretty and polished, but not too fashion-forward). It’s safe to say that she can look back on these pictures in 10 years and not regret a thing, and I daresay that’s the most any of us can hope for! Would you wear Chelsea’s ensemble if given the chance? I’d love to hear your thoughts!

Lea Michele in her glorious Oscar de la Renta gown.

We’re all a buzzing about last night’s Golden Globes and the red carpet hits and misses. It was a rather predictable red carpet with everyone looking somewhat the same. Some of our picks for best dressed included Marion Cotillard, Halle Berry, January Jones and Emily Blunt. Another of our faves was Glee star Lea Michele in this voluminous Oscar de la Renta ballgown.

An Oscar de la Renta gown featured in Weddingbells Fall & Winter 2009 issue—very similiar to Lea's Globes dress!

Simply glorious! Her dress is also a perfect example of how red carpet style can translate beautifully into bridal style. To illustrate my point, check out this Oscar de la Renta dress we shot for our Fall & Winter 2009 issue—it’s pretty much the same gown that Lea wore on the Golden Globe red carpet but in white!

It’s been a hectic week for us–we’re in the midst of finishing the magazine and tracking down all the gorgeous runway photos from bridal fashion week in New York last weekend. Amongst all the gowns this one (above) from Douglas Hannant caught my eye. It looks so romantic, even if it is a bit more on the simpler side, but dressed with a pretty accessory (maybe a chunky necklace) any bride would look stunning. I’d love to hear your thoughts on this dress, do you think it’s too plain or just perfect?
