#922: Receiving your very first RSVP

You gotta have extra love for that one early bird guest who RSVP’s the minute they receive your invitation. It’s definitely awesome to get that first one in–either via e-mail/phone call/mail, because a) that means people are actually receiving your invitations and b) it means that wedding guest count is officially underway. How did you get people to RSVP? Through digital means or via snail mail?

#923: Wine tasting

This idea sort of goes hand in hand with menu tasting–but is slightly different in a way. I just read about a bride and groom who’s main focus was to pair different wines with their various meals, which I think is awesome. The couple mentioned that they were huge foodies and that it was a big deal for them, and in the end it worked out as they mentioned that guests couldn’t stop talking about how great the food and wine were. It definitely enhances/complements the meal your serving and can be exciting when you go in for a sampling and have a variety of wines placed before your eyes!

#924: Finding the perfect wedding favours

Initially I thought this idea would be a cinch–but after talking to plenty of my recently married friends and soon-to-be brides, choosing your favours isn’t as easy as it seems to be. The problem? There’s too many great options out there. From donations to charity to something sweet to flip-flops–the possibilities are quite endless. Hence, the reason it’s awesome to find a wedding favour, that you and your significant other truly love–and a favour that you know will be put to good use. What are you doing for wedding favours? We’d love to hear.

#925: Being able to take home your wedding dress

This definitely applies to every bride that has gone through fitting after fitting after fitting–or perhaps you only needed one fitting. But to finally have your wedding gown in your hands is the most AWESOME feeling in the world. Trying to hide it from your groom, and keeping it neatly and safely tucked away in your closet? Now that’s the challenge.

#926: Hiring a professional to do your hair and makeup

It’s not everyday that you get to be fully pampered from head to toe, which is why getting your hair and makeup done is awesome. Makes you feel and look like a princess. Are you hiring a makeup artist? What kind of look are you going for? Please share!

#927: Seeing your dad get teary-eyed as he walks you down the aisle

The moments you spend with your bridesmaids and love ones–especially when they see you in your dress for the first time is quite the experience. But, it’s the teary-eyed look that you see from your father that can really be, altogether, an emotional yet awesome feeling!

#928: Switching your Facebook status from in a relationship to “engaged”

Like I’ve mentioned in previous posts, the amount of engagement announcements that I’ve seen from my Facebook has skyrocketed–and this was strictly from Facebook status changes alone. I’m pretty sure if you put it out there, that must mean you’d love the world to know about it–and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that. I think it’s pretty awesome when you see how many comments (or likes) you get once you’ve changed it. It’s especially surprising–yet admit it, you get a thrilling and exciting feeling–to get congratulated from those you haven’t talked to in ages.

#929: Finalizing your wedding theme/colour palette

Some of you may know right off the bat the exact colours/motif you’ll want for your wedding day. For the rest of you, it’s always a toss up between which shades you love and which shades will look good. After spending countless hours of searching through images and finding inspiration boards/photographs to suit your taste, I’d definitely say it’s awesome when you’ve finalized or have a set idea of how you’d like your day to look like–colour-wise. Definitely makes it easier to tell vendors (florists, cake designer, etc.) how you’d like your decor to look when you’ve got your colours/theme down to a tee. So tell me, what are your wedding themes/colours? And, did you have a difficult time deciding or did you know right away?
