How they met: “Jamie was dating my best friend (oops!),” explains Mandy.

Engagement story: “Before moving in together, I had told Jamie that I didn’t need to be married to live with someone but I would’ve liked more of a commitment than just a boyfriend/girlfriend relationship. Being that money was tight when we got our first place, an engagement was far from my mind,” Mandy recalls. “After a long day of moving in 30 degree weather and no air conditioning we finally sat down at 10pm. Jamie said he was going to his car to ‘grab a movie’ for us to watch and came back hiding the ring behind his back. He came beside me and said ‘I love you’ in which I replied ‘I love you more’ (yes, we’re that kind of couple) and he said ‘do you know why I love you more?’ and pulled out the ring. I was so shocked and surprised that all I could say for an hour was ‘really?’. Of course, eventually I said yes!”
