A Vintage Travel Themed Wedding in Manitoba
About the couple
Bride: Danielle Wolowidnyk
Groom: Patrick McLaughlin
How they met: “We met the good old fashioned way…online dating!” explains Danielle. “I sent a “smile” to him through my profile, which luckily lead to a date a couple of days later. We hit it off amazingly well and the rest was history!”
Engagement story: “Patrick and I had just recently taken a year off from ‘normal life’ and our nine to five jobs. We saw the world and travelled to 15 different countries! It was breath-taking. When we got home to Winnipeg and finally settled back into our careers, I received the best surprise of my life! One day, after returning home from work, I was greeted with a trail of rose petals and different sized candles guiding the way through my ‘history.’ Patrick had planned everything to the last detail,” Danielle recalls. “My ‘life path’ was decorated with the very best pictures of our relationship from the beginning. There were fantastic memories of our travels and special occasions over our entire relationship too. All of which lead me to the ‘present’ moment. You see, after following this walk through our memories, a real present was waiting for me. I opened the present and Patrick had written the most beautiful words I’ve ever read. They ended with the words, ‘…to the future.’ I realized, to claim my ‘future’ with Patrick, all I had to do was turn the door handle. So, I did what any girl madly in love would do. I turned the handle and he wasn’t there! Instead, he’d been in another room and was able to surprise me again by being down on one knee when I turned back out of the room to look for him! Patrick even went so far as to mount a hidden camera with a perfect vantage point to record every moment that transpired from my walk to the tears and sheer excitement that were all part of that very special day!”
