How they met: “Lukas and I attended the same summer camp as teenagers. He lived in Kelowna and I lived in Victoria,” explains Trina. “We became good friends and started dating long distance for two years. After breaking up for a time, he ended up moving to Victoria and we started going to the same church. Seeing each other often and spending lots of time together with mutual friends, we eventually realized we still loved each other and have been together since.”

Engagement story: “Lukas took me out on a nice date to Vista 18 for the evening and remained very secretive about our plans for later, saying he had a ‘few things in mind.’ After leaving the restaurant, we stopped at our nearby church, as he had ‘forgotten’ something from earlier that morning when he returned home from a trip,” Trina recalls. “Leaving me in the car, he called me to come inside to help him carry some things. I walked in to a basement full of tea light candles and white lights, with Lukas at the end of a long hallway down on his knee ready to propose!”
