How they met: “We met on the first day of high school, but our paths rarely crossed despite sharing a few mutual friends,” explains Kelly. “A few years after graduation, we started running into each other at social events and we began casually hanging out. We began dating after I fell off a skateboard and Derek came to my rescue and cleaned my wounds, despite my deep embarrassment.”

Engagement story: “Derek planned a romantic weekend of wine tasting around B.C’s Okanagan,” Kelly recalls. “He took me for a stroll through the vineyard of my favourite winery, got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife.”
