How they met: “We met through our best friends Vivian and Max,” explains Phoenix. “They met each other online and figured that we would be a perfect match together.”

Engagement story: “It was on Valentines Day 2010. We hung out at the Longsdale Quay market for brunch and then we went to Canada Place, where we had our first date, for a walk,” Phoenix recalls. “After we arrived home, I found that the place was decorated with flowers, candles, balloons and ribbons. Dennis turned on the TV and played our favourite song along with a slideshow of our pictures from our 12 years of being together. He sang, kneeled down and proposed. I cried, said yes, and we danced through the song. Then all of my family and friends jumped out of the other room to surprise me and congratulate us. We watched the Olympic fireworks from our balcony and celebrated our engagement with everyone that night!”
