Best moment: “We arranged to have our photos taken before our ceremony,” says Melanie. “We met at the hotel and he stood by the window with his back towards me, waiting to see me for the first time that day. I walked down the stairs towards him, so nervous and excited. He turned around and the look on his face will stay in my heart forever. Being alone together for that moment took away all my jitters. The rest of the day was perfect.”

Favourite detail: “We had a photo booth that was a smash hit,” explains Melanie.

Wedding song: “Can I Stay” by Ray LaMontagne. “I have loved Ray LaMontagne forever and was enamoured with this song,” says Melanie. “Paul learned how to play it on his guitar and surprised me one night with a serenade. It’s also the song we dance to in the kitchen while I’m cooking.”
