How they met: “Mike and I met through a friend I went to university with,” explains Meagan. “We became fast friends, and six months later we were dating.”

Engagement story: “It was Remembrance Day weekend and we had plans to paint the house,” Meagan recalls. “For some reason Mike wanted to start painting at the opposite end of the house, but of course I was completely oblivious as to why. About five minutes into our painting he called me over to ‘help him out with something.’ I put my brush down, and grumbled down the hallway, complaining about how we just started. When I got to him, he was down on one knee. On the wall to my left Mike painted “Marry me.” I looked back at him, and there were tears in his eyes. The rest is a blur, and I just remember nodding yes.”
