An Elegant Wedding in Ottawa
About the couple
Bride: Jennifer El Chaar
Groom: Chahine El Chaar
How they met: “I had plans to go for lunch with my friend, who had mistakenly double booked for a lunch with her boss (Chahine), so we all went together,” explains Jennifer. “From there we ended up exchanging numbers, enjoying each other’s company, and salsa dancing.”
Engagement story: “It was a late August trip to Toronto where we spent the weekend with Chahine’s best friend and girlfriend,” Jennifer recalls. “My friend and I had done a lot of shopping during the day, in which I gathered he had found the time to sneak away and pick up the ever gorgeous princess cut engagement ring. The next day, just before heading back to Ottawa, he asked me if I wanted to have a picnic in the Toronto Botanical Gardens. We parked, and walked through the gardens, stopping at a very pretty, flower engulfed gazebo. He pulled out some food from his bag, and a bottle of champagne! He then got down on one knee, with many bystanders around, and asked me if I would do him the honor of becoming his wife. As I bent down on the ground next to him, enclosed in his arms, I whispered yes as we both began to laugh and smile.”
