An All-Things-Green Wedding In Huron, Ontario
Wedding date: June 25, 2011
Wedding theme: Our love of the outdoors and all things green
Guests: 210
Best moment: “The big reveal moment, when Alex and I first saw each other,” says Karin. “We knew we wanted all of our pictures ahead of the ceremony so that we could fully enjoy the day with our guests, but also because we wanted that first moment of seeing each other to be just for us. The look on his face when he first saw me is something I will never forget and we shared a few tears with each other; it was a very special moment reserved solely for us.”
Favourite detail: “My favourite wedding detail is how everything flowed together with our accent colour of green, right down to my bright green shoes!,” explains Karin. “The barn is stunning on its own and did not need much embellishment, but the large lanterns that we hung in there in white, with just a few pops of green were brilliant.”
Wedding song: “That’s How Strong My Love is” by Otis Redding. “We are huge Motown fans and we both grew up listening to the classics with our parents, and Otis Redding has always been one of our favourites,” says Karin. “It was obvious to us that was the genre we would choose, but we also wanted a song that would allow a slow dance, without being drawn out. This song let us add our own flair to the dance, given that it is slightly up-tempo and the lyrics were a perfect match with how we felt.”
