A Stunning Wedding in Cocagne, New Brunswick Inspired By Peacock Feathers
About the couple
Bride: Mary (Becky) Hamar
Groom: Robert (Robbie) John Sheehan Hamar
How they met: “Robbie and I met as lifeguards when we were both about 16 years old,” explains Becky. “We became quick friends which only blossomed into a romantic relationship much later; six years later to be exact!”
Engagement story: “At the time, Robbie and I were living and working in London Ontario which we really enjoyed, but nothing compared to summer time on the east coast shore, so we drove back home (New Brunswick) for two glorious weeks of summer vacation,” Becky recalls. “We decided to sneak away for a romantic night on my dad’s sail boat. I had been relaxing, below deck when he asked me to join him above to gaze at the stars and enjoy some wine. As I climbed up the ladder I noticed he was on one knee. He proposed to me there under the summer stars. It was especially romantic as we both share a passion for the maritime shore and we spent the rest of the evening laughing and talking quietly about all of our fondest memories from our lifeguard days, and how excited we both were to spend our futures together.”
