How they met: “We met through Aaron’s aunt Cheryl and uncle Gary,” explains Kristen. “Our families were both visiting and ended up playing Pictionary together. It was about a week after that, with the encouragement of my Mom, that I called Aaron and asked him to be my date to my grade eight graduation! We hung out prior to the graduation and got to know each other, immediately becoming best friends. After years of being best friends and supporting each other in our hobbies, we finally decided to date in hopes that this would not ruin our friendship. Of course it didn’t and after nine years of dating, we got engaged.”

Engagement story: “Aaron took me to Amherstberg, Ontario for what I thought was just a dinner,” Kristen recalls. “When we arrived, there was a horse and carriage waiting for us. We went on a carriage ride through some historic areas and stopped in front of the waterfront in a beautiful park. We got off the carriage, walked around the water when Aaron stopped me to ask if I had figured out why we were there. Of course I had hoped I knew why…and I was right! He got down on one knee and asked me to marry him and spend the rest of my life with him. Of course I said yes!”
