How they met: “We met at work,” explains Melissa.

Engagement story: “Jason and I arranged to pick up our new puppy from the breeder on Vancouver Island the last Sunday in May. Seeing that the weather was so nice we decided to make it a weekend-long trip,” Melissa recalls. “Arriving to Victoria Saturday afternoon we checked in to a historic bed and breakfast by the bay, and headed off to Beacon Hill Park for a walk. We walked around the entire park, visiting the petting zoo, admiring the ocean views, and enjoying all the pretty spring flowers. Getting a little hungry I suggested that it was time to leave the park and find somewhere for dinner. Jason said that he wasn’t quite ready to leave, so we continued to walk. He led me down a quiet path to a secluded bench and asked me to sit down. There he got down on one knee, and said the most beautiful words I ever heard and asked me to marry him. I shot up in a second and hugged him and said yes.”
