Wedding date: July 22, 2011
Wedding theme: Lime Lovin’
Guests: 140
Budget: $25,000
Best moment: “When we saw each other for the first time,” says Lindsay. “We did our photos before our ceremony, so for our first look session it was just us and our photographer. It was a really special moment that the two of us got to share privately. We also remember the first time we saw our guests. As we pulled up in the limo to our ceremony site we saw all of our guests making their way out to the garden where we would get married. They were all dressed so beautifully, and it was so heart warming to know that all our loving friends and family surrounded us.”
Favourite detail: “As we entered the reception room and headed to the head table, we both stopped in our tracks as we saw our cake,” explains Lindsay. “The three-tiered, square, bamboo inspired cake was made by my bride’s cousin, and as a special surprise, another talented family member hand-sculpted a clay cake-topper that incorporated our careers as a teacher and firefighter, and of course included our dog Franklin. The cake-topper now has a prized place in our home and was definitely one of our favourite gifts!”
Wedding song: “You Are The Best Thing” by Ray Lamontagne. “We thought this song would be perfect as it was up-beat, fun, and had a real celebratory feel that would start the party off right,” says Lindsay. “The lyrics captured our feelings perfectly, and you can’t beat the sound of Ray’s voice!”
