About the couple
Bride: Corrine Mulligan
Groom: Fyfe Nilsson
How they met: “We were set up through a mutual friend,” explains Corrine. “We met at a friend’s barbecue five years ago and it has been true love ever since!”
Engagement story: “Fyfe had planned what he called ‘Fyfe and Corrine Day’ which was a Sunday afternoon hike in Pitt Meadows to Goose Lake,” Corrine recalls. “After we ate our lunch, we then headed back to his parents’ house to do some work on a kitchen table that we were building for our new apartment. His parents were away for the weekend so it was just the two of us. Fyfe asked me to sit down at the kitchen table so I could let him know if the table was the correct height for the chairs. The next thing I knew our little dog walked into the garage with a huge box on her back. The box was strapped to her harness and it had a giant pink bow on top. Fyfe was down on one knee. When he asked me to marry him I jumped on him as I was saying ‘yes!’ My father passed away when I was 19. A few weeks prior to the proposal Fyfe and I were spending time at my father’s grave and while we were there he asked for his permission.”
