Bride: Nahrain Hawel

Groom: Dani Hawel

How they met: “We met through friends in the fall of 2009,” Nahrain says. “Then at a winter ball gala on New Year’s Eve in 2009, the countdown to midnight was on and everyone was pairing up, Dani was beside me and looked at me as they hit number 6, he said “I think we should be together this year and spend the rest of lives together.”

Engagement story: “We were supposed to go to dinner and salsa dancing,” Nahrain recalls. “When that didn’t happen we got back into the car and he “faked proposed” to me! I was mad and couldn’t understand why he would do that. When we got back home, there, in the backyard, were all our friends and family, waiting at a beach-themed, candle-lit party. He got down on one knee and the rest is history.”
