How they met: “Ron was in the military, and was stationed in my hometown of Lewiston, NY. I had been friends for years with some people that worked on the base, so they introduced me to the ‘new guy’ when he arrived. We were friends for over a year before we started dating,” says Jenna.

Engagement story: “Ron had just ended his enlistment in the military to take a government position. His new job required that he be away from home for three months. Since we would be moving from Niagara to Rochester when he returned, he said he wanted to go to the falls before he left. That Sunday we planned to go on a picnic, but he said he needed to go fill out some paperwork for his new job first. He was actually picking up the ring. While he was gone I accepted an invitation to have dinner with my father, and told him we shouldn’t go on a picnic since we had dinner plans in a few hours and didn’t want to ruin my appetite. He managed to talk me into an outing anyway, and proposed at our favorite hideaway on Goat Island,” Jenna explains.
