A Quirky Cocktail Party Wedding In Saskatoon, Saskatchewan
Wedding date: July 16, 2011
Wedding theme: Romantic cocktail party in soft shades of ivory, pink and silver
Guests: 180
Best moment: “A few hours into the reception I sneaked outside for a break from everyone and found my little brother out getting some fresh air. With the entire venue being glass on one side, we could see inside, and paired with the lighting and candles that Bliss Wedding Design had set up, it looked amazing. I said to my brother that I couldn’t believe after all the months of planning that my wedding was almost over, and I was actually kind of sad about it –that was until I noticed the number of people dancing and having such a good time. It was just one of those bitter-sweet moments, and I really got to take a second to take in the results of so much planning,” says Jennifer.
Favourite detail: “The intimate dinner at Cava Secreta just before our early-evening ceremony,” says Jennifer.
Wedding song: “Red on a Rose” by Alan Jackson. “Firstly, because we have danced to this song in our various kitchens over the last six years — sometimes even just in our socks and underwear after a few glasses of wine. It has always been our inside joke after it just happened one night and continued on. Second, I think the lyrics are beautiful, and in six years I have never gotten tired of listening to it,” explains Jennifer.
Honeymoon: Mayan Riviera
