About the couple
Bride: Megan Seville
Groom: Cameron Jefferies
How they met: “Cam and I first met in an introductory anatomy class at the University of Alberta,” explains Megan. “I developed a girlish crush on Cam far before he had any idea who I was. He was the cute boy with the curly hair, dimples, and Seth Cohen-like charm that sat a few rows in front of me. Timing wasn’t quite right, so I kept my crush a secret, and crossed my fingers that we would meet again. You can only imagine my surprise when I saw Cam’s high school grad picture out on display at a close friend’s house- Cam happened to be first cousins with one of my best friends! Of course, I begged her to introduce us, and the rest is history. The funniest part of the story is that Cam thinks he pursued me.”
Engagement story: “Cam and I had been dating for about two and a half years when he asked me to take a trip with him to Victoria, B.C. It sounded like a great idea to me, so we planned a quick getaway during my reading week (I was in my last year of law school and Cam had some time off work). We arrived in Victoria on February 12th and had plans to spend Valentine’s Day weekend whale watching, checking out the local restaurants, and relaxing. After dinner the night we arrived, Cam suggested we take a stroll around the parliament building. We had such a peaceful walk, with literally not a single person in sight, probably because the lighting of the Olympic torch was happening at the exact same time. We arrived at small fountain on the parliament grounds and I asked Cam for a penny so I could make a wish. Cam’s eyes sort of ‘lit-up’ and he gave me loonie instead, insisting I make my wish, and that the dollar would be worth it He requested I close my eyes and make my wish ‘Trevie-fountain’ style, throwing the loonie over my left shoulder. When I opened my eyes, I was literally SHOCKED to see Cam down on one knee with a gorgeous custom-made ring, which incorporated his grandmother’s diamond. Of course, I said yes,” says Megan.
