About the couple
Bride: Courtney Bolton
Groom: Bryce Parker
How they met: “Working together at Pacific Coastal Airlines,” says Courtney.
Engagement story: “Bryce proposed on September 5th, 2010, the day after our friends’ Scott and Jason’s amazing wedding. It was a chilly but clear day, so we decided to head out to Lighthouse Park on the North Shore for a picnic. We usually go there a couple of times each summer, but hadn’t had the chance that year. We stopped along the way to pick up some food and drinks and when we arrived, we climbed out onto the rocks and set up as usual. At the time, I didn’t understand why Bryce was getting so agitated by all of the tourists ‘invading our personal space.’ It’s not really like him to let that sort of thing get to him, but I was still clueless,” explains Courtney. “Eventually, all of the tourists left and Bryce kept loitering around near the water while I was laid back reading a magazine. Eventually, I got up to go see what he was doing and he just turned to me, took my hands, got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! To me, it didn’t seem like I hesitated at all, I just shouted ‘yes!’ Bryce later told me I had the most confused (almost painful) look on my face while I seemed to be analyzing the situation to make sure it was really happening before I said anything, how embarrassing. We celebrated by ordering takeout from our first-date restaurant, Banana Leaf.”
